Given all the notoriety and recognition he received after his move North, and given all the misinformation about him out there—much of it provided by Big Bill himself—it can sometimes be quite instructive to go back to these early recordings and recall as if for the first time, just how bloody good Big Bill really was. These are incredible recordings, pure and simple. What a talented young Big Bill Broonzy he was.
