Little Richard – Here’s Little Richard

Admittedly, “debut” albums meant something a bit different back in the era of the single. But all the same, this is technically a “debut album” So … um … wow.

This is wild music.

I mean, there’s nothing really unconventional about it per se. Lots of I-IV-V progressions, a whole lot of 4/4 time, drums, sax, piano, the classic r&b instrumentation, lyrics about girls, and dancing, and cars, and Saturday nights, etc.

But then there’s that voice. And that singer. And those performances.

Wild, man, wild.
